McLaughlin reaches finals on parallel bars
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Temple men's gymnasts redshirt-senior Patrick McLaughlin and sophomore Alex Tighe had solid performances at the NCAA Championships, held Friday afternoon at Ohio State's St. John Arena. McLaughlin made the cut on parallel bars and advanced to the final day of competition.
McLaughlin scored 15.050 on parallel bars, coming in eighth place. He is first Owl to enter an event final since Nyika White in 2005. Tighe placed 28th on the apparatus with a score of 14.250. On high bar, McLaughlin registered a score of 14.250 to place 19th. The top ten athletes on each apparatus advanced to the final day of competition.
