Speedy outfielder hit .426 in 32 games at Cañada College last season
PHILADELPHIA - Temple head baseball coach Rob Valli is proud to announce the signing of Allen Stiles to a National Letter of Intent. Stiles, who recently finished his sophomore season at Cañada College, will join the Owls as a member of the class of 2013.
"We are extremely excited about Allen," commented Valli. "He fits the mold of a prototypical leadoff type who can play all three outfield positions. We will count on him to hit for average, get on base and speed up our offense."
Stiles (Concord, Calif./De La Salle High School) is a left-handed hitting and throwing outfielder. In 2011, the 5'9" sophomore led his team and ranked fifth in the California Community College Athletic Association batting .426. He was also second in the CCCAA with 60 hits, fourth with six triples and sixth with 39 runs scored. Stiles was effective at reaching base and was dangerous when he did, ranking ninth in the CCCAA with 19 stolen bases.
"We are extremely excited about Allen," commented Valli. "He fits the mold of a prototypical leadoff type who can play all three outfield positions. We will count on him to hit for average, get on base and speed up our offense."
