Six Temple Administrators Promoted in Department Restructuring Plan

PHILADELPHIA  – Six Temple University athletic department administrators have been promoted in a restructuring plan announced today by Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw.

“With the recent loss of one of our top administrators, Herman Frazier, we decided to take the opportunity to restructure our staff,” said Bradshaw. “We have one of the best staffs in collegiate athletics, and by promoting from within, it will allow us to recognize these individuals, and reward them for their hard work on behalf of Temple University.”

Eric Roedl, who is starting his ninth year on the Temple athletics staff, has been elevated from Senior Associate Athletic Director to Deputy Athletic Director. In his new role, Roedl will oversee the administration of football, men's basketball and baseball while also having direct oversight of the sports medicine, strength and conditioning, equipment services and the overall athletic budget.

Kristen Foley, Larry Dougherty and Sherryta Freeman have been promoted from Associate Athletic Directors to Senior Associate Athletic Directors.

In her 12th year as a Temple athletic administrator, Foley will add the sport of men's rowing to the existing varsity sports teams she administers while also taking on oversight of the University's athletic facilities. Dougherty, entering his ninth year at TU, will continue in his role of handling the Owls' athletic communications while now overseeing television and radio as well as the sport of men's soccer. Starting her seventh year at Temple, Freeman will add the sport of men's golf and serve as the athletic department liaison to the University's Student-Athlete Academic Advising and Support Center to her existing duties that include compliance, student services and softball.

Scott Walcoff, now in his seventh year at Temple, has been elevated from Assistant Athletic Director to Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Sales. In this new role, he will add oversight of athletic tickets sales and operations and corporate sales to his existing duties that included athletic marketing and promotions.

Harry Metzinger, beginning his fourth year at Temple, moves from Athletic Business Manager to Assistant Athletic Director for Finance and Administration. In this role, he will have day-to-day oversight of all athletics financial operations, the athletic budget and the athletics business office.

Also included in the restructuring plan is the hiring of a new Athletic Business Manager.
