Day (Senior Day) against Saint Joseph's on Sunday, Oct. 28. The Owls (11-7, 4-1) are currently tied with UMass for second place in the Atlantic 10.

The Owls are in a strong position to earn a spot in next weekend's A-10 Tournament at UMass. The three remaining teams that could tie Temple's record should the Owls suffer two losses, are all teams Temple has beaten (VCU, Lock Haven, and La Salle). The first tie-breaking procedure is results in head-to-head competition.
Temple has won nine of its last 11 games, recently having a five-game win streak snapped at #17 Richmond. Sophomore Amber Youtz
leads the Owls with 20 goals and is tied for first with Katie Briglia
with 10 assists. Youtz's 50 total points rank sixth all-time in a single season in program history, while her 20 goals currently tie her for seventh all-time in a single season with recently graduated standout Bridget Settles
. Youtz ranks sixth among all players in NCAA Division I in points per game (2.78) and goals per game (1.11) this season.
The Minutewomen, ranked 18th in the national poll, are 10-8 overall and 4-1 in the league. UMass has an impressive streak going with five straight wins, a streak which started with a 2-1 upset victory over #1 Syracuse.
Saint Joseph's is 4-13 overall and 1-4 in the A-10, and will need help from other teams as well as wins this weekend to have a chance at a tournament berth. The Hawks have lost four straight, and will play at VCU on Friday before traveling to Temple on Sunday.
KATIE BRIGLIA DAY
The only senior for the Owls this season is #35, Katie Briglia
. She is a team co-captain and a four-year veteran for Temple. Every team she has been a part of has earned a berth in the Atlantic 10 Tournament, with two of those teams so far advancing to the A-10 Final. Katie has scored 14 goals in her Temple career, including an impressive six game-winning goals. She has also recorded 18 assists as an Owl, and ranks first on the team this season with 10 assists.
Katie is already a two-time Atlantic 10 First Team selection, and was an All-Region Second Team honoree last year. Katie has started in every single game for the Owls, all 62 of them, since the beginning of her sophomore year. Off the field, Katie has twice been named to Temple's President's Honor Roll for having a GPA above 3.5. She is a communications major from Phoenixville, Pa.
"It's exciting," said Briglia. "A lot of my old teammates are coming back, some of the seniors from last year, so that'll be really fun to see people. I would love to win on Senior Day. It would just make the day that much better."
