No. 10 Men's Gymnastics Wraps Up Season At NCAA Event Finals

NORMAN, Okla. - The NCAA Championship was held Friday evening inside the Lloyd Nobel Center on the campus of Oklahoma University, as Illinois won the national title with a score of 358.850. Within the meet, five Temple individuals competed for a chance to advance into Saturday's individual final.
Placing third and fourth in all around on Thursday, seniors Chris Mooney and Adam Al-Rokh worked all six events again on Friday night.. In the event final, Al-Rokh turned in a 16th place score with a score of 82.750, while Mooney completed the events with a combined score of 80.350.
On the mat, senior Allan Malone had Temple's highest finish in any individual event on Friday, as he placed 28th in the floor exercise with a score of 14.500. Mooney posted a score of 13.650 while Al-Rokh earned 13.250 for his effort.
Senior Matt Martin made it into the vault event final, where he set a score of 14.050 for 43rd place. Mooney had an impressive demonstration, as he earned a 14.500.
Junior Alex Tighe placed in a tie for 39th overall on parallel bars with a score of 13.550. Al-Rokh's score of 14.000 earned him the 32nd-best judged performance.
Later on in the evening Tighe scored 13.950 on the high bar, tying for 33rd in the event. Continuing the all around, Al-Rokh was close behind with a 13.650.
Temple Men's Gymnastics finishes its 2012 campaign ranked No. 10 in the nation with an average score of 340.767 and a record of 18-6.
