PHILADELPHIA –
Not even 24 hours removed from its ECAC Championship title win, 13 members of the Temple men's gymnastics program returned to the apparatuses on Saturday for the conference individual event finals in McGonigle Hall on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Matt Martin, junior Alex tighe and sophomore John Leonard each had McGonigle Hall in a frenzy , as each landed their events on point to win gold medals.

Martin's season-high score of 15.400 on the vault was a compliment for his sensational landing off the apparatus, while Leonard's outstanding routine in the floor exercise earned him a first place score of 14.750 to capture the gold medal. Tighe tied for first place on parallel bars with a score of 14.700 to take gold.

Also on the vault, Brett Statman picked up a medal, earning silver with his second place score of 14.600.

Getting the chance to perform for one final day in his home gym, senior Taylor Brana had two terrific placements in the two events he worked. On rings, Brana was awarded the silver medal for his performance, in which he was tabbed with a score of 14.100 to tie ECAC All Around Champion Kevin Faulk from Navy.

Brana came up short behind teammate junior Alex Tighe on the parallel bars, placing fourth with a score 14.450 in the event.

Senior Blake Collins, who is in his fifth year, earned Temple's only other event medal, taking a bronze with a score of 14.100 on the horizontal bars. Allan Malone's score was in striking distance of Collins' at 14.050, which was worth fourth place.

Navy's Faulk won three gold medals in Saturday's individual competition, taking first on horizontal bars, parallel bars and on pommel horse.

The No. 10 Temple Owls will have two weeks to prepare for the NCAA Championships being held in Oklahoma on April 20-21. Be sure to check Owlsports.com for coverage leading up to the national title meets.
