Men's Tennis Competes Against Drexel, Loyola and Lehigh at Lehigh Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Temple's men's tennis took part in the Lehigh Invitational on Saturday, October 5, playing  a mix of singles and doubles against Drexel, Loyola and Lehigh.
 
In doubles action against Drexel, Santiago Canete and Nicolas Paulus paired up to defeat Daniel Hensen and Badr Ouabdelmoumen, 8-7(7) at the second flight. The duo of Hernnan Vasconez and Hicham Belkssir dropped an 8-3 decision at the first flight.
 
In their only singles action of the day, all four TU players won their matches against Loyola. Paulus picked up a 6-4, 6-3 decision at No. 1, before Canete won 6-1, 6-3 at the second flight. Belkssir came from behind for a 6-7(6), 6-3, 10-7, victory over Alex Castro at No. 3, and Vasconez was a 6-3, 6-0 winner against Maxwell Shanbrom at the fourth flight.
 
In doubles action against the Greyhounds, Vasconez and Belkssir were 8-5 winners at No. 1, while Canete and Paulus picked up an 8-1 decision at the second flight.
 
The doubles teams switched it up against Lehigh, with Canete and Paulus playing at No. 1 and falling to Mark Goldberg and Mitchell Petersen, 8-2. Vasconez and Belkssir dropped their match at the second flight, 8-6, to Ben Gilman and Ricardo Prince.
