– The American Athletic Conference announced that 12 Temple women's basketball have been added to the television broadcast list for the 2013-14 season.
In addition to their ESPNU tilt with Memphis (previously announced) on Feb. 9, the Owls will take on national runner-up Louisville on ESPN3 twice (Jan. 1 and Feb. 12).
Both of TU's games with defending national champion Connecticut will be televised by SportsNet New York (SNY). The Jan. 28 game at McGonigle Hall may also air on ESPN3.
Eight conference games will be broadcast live nationally on the American Digital Network—Memphis (Dec. 29), UCF (Jan. 4), USF (Jan. 7 and Feb. 22), SMU (Jan. 14), Cincinnati (Jan. 18), and Rutgers (Jan. 25 and Feb. 26).
The 13 televised regular-season games are the most in one season for Temple's women's basketball.
"We can't wait for American Athletic Conference play to begin," Temple head coach Tonya Cardoza
said. "This national television exposure is unprecedented, and we are excited to be making history."
All games of the 2014 Women's Basketball Championship (March 7-10) will be televised nationally.
Entering its inaugural season of league play, all American teams will play 18 conference games, playing each of the nine opponents home and away.
Temple opens the season at cross-town rival La Salle on Nov. 8 in Philadelphia Big 5 action. The Owls home opener is slated for Nov. 16 with Auburn at 6 p.m. in McGonigle Hall.
