Women's Soccer's Season Ends with a 3-0 Loss to SMU

ORLANDO, Fla. – Temple women's soccer's 2013 season ended on Friday night with a 3-0 loss to SMU (9-8-1, 3-5-1) in the first round of the American Athletic Conference Tournament at the UCF Soccer Complex. The Owls finish the season with a record of 6-12-1, 1-8-0.
SMU got its first goal in the 21st minute. Temple kicked the ball back towards goalkeeper Shauni Kerkhoff, and the ball took an unfortunate bounce into the goal.
The Mustangs added another goal four minutes later. Rikki Clarke scored an unassisted goal from the right corner inside the box.
The last goal came in the 73rd minute. Taylor Barg got control of a rebound off a deflection and easily put it in.
Kerkhoff had three saves in the game for the Owls.
Kaylee Harner led the Owls in shots with two. SMU led the shot category 9-8.
SMU advances to the quarterfinals on Sunday, where they will face the regular season conference champions UCF.
