Dalton Pepper Named Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA -  - Temple senior guard Dalton Pepper was named Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for his efforts in the Owls' 78-73 win at Penn Saturday.  It is the first citation of his career

Pepper also was named to the five-man American Athletic Conference men's basketball honor roll Monday.  Pepper was joined by Sean Kilpatrick (Cincinnati), Shabazz Napier(UConn), Danuel House (Houston) and Russ Smith (Louisville).  Rutgers' Kadeem Jack earned Player of the Week accolades.

Pepper, who was also named OwlSports.com Athlete of the Week, scored a team and career-high 19 points in Owls' 78-73 win at Penn Saturday. It was his first start at Temple - second in his career (one at WVU in 2010-11). The Levittown, Pa. native (Pennsbury High) also had career-high  nine rebounds, while dishing three assists against zero turnovers. He

After Penn overcame a 15-pt deficit to take a 73-71 lead with 1:39 to play, Temple's lone senior assisted on the tying basket and then scored the go-ahead hoop and added two free throws with 2.6 seconds left to ice the game.
