SPRINGFIELD, Mass.—
The 2013 ECAC Champion Temple Owls sent nine athletes back out to the apparatuses on Saturday night to compete in the ECAC Individual Finals on Saturday night. Of the nine that competed, six came away with medals for the Owls. Thirty-seven year head coach Fred Turoff and his second-year assistant Patrick McLaughlin were named the ECAC's Coach and Assistant of the Year, while Alex Tighe was named the conference's Senior Athlete of the Year.

After winning the conference title on parallel bars on Friday evening in the team finals, Tighe earned a bronze medal for his third place finish on the same apparatus, as he score a 14.250. Earlier in the evening he took part on pommel horse, where he earned a fourth place score of 14.100.

Allan Malone had the highest finish among all Temple gymnasts in the ix events, as he earned a silver medal for this second place score of 15.100 in the floor exercise, which was ahead of senior captain Evan Burke, who came away with a sixth-best score of 13.300, allowing him to also pick up a medal.
Fourth-year gymnast Assaf Zoor led the Owls on rings with his fourth place score of 14.300, just beating graduate student and team captain Taylor Brana, who was granted a score of 14.050.

Senior Brett Statman came away with a fourth place medal, as he was given a score of 14.500 for his effort on the vault.
The award for Turoff and McLaughlin marks the second time that the two have been honored together, as the duo was named the NCAA East Region Coach and Assistant of the Year for their effort in 2012.

The NCAA will announce its 2013 awards on April 21 at the NCAA Championships, held at Penn State, where the nationally-ranked (#13) Owls will compete next when team competition opens on April 20.
