– Quinnipiac claimed the doubles point, but the Temple women's tennis team responded with five singles wins to earn a 5-2 win on the road on Sunday, April 7. TU improves to 6-12 on the year.
The Bobcats took the wins at the first and second doubles flights to carry a 1-0 lead into singles play. Jordan Batey
quickly tied that up with her first match at No. 1 this season, winning 6-2, 6-1 over Rachel Cantor. After the hosts went on top again with a win at the sixth flight, it was all Temple the rest of the way.
Also winning were Yana Mavrina
, Alicia Doms
, Rebecca Breland
and Maame Ama Osei
. All matches were decided in straight sets except for a tough three-set battle at No. 3. Doms took the first set, 6-3, before dropping a 4-6 decision in the second. The junior rebounded with a 6-2 win in the third set for the victory.
