Montrose Named To Philadelphia Inquirer Women's At-Large Academic All-Area Team

PHILADELPHIA –
 Junior Chantal Montrose (Alexandria, Va.) of the Temple women's fencing team has been named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Women's At-Large Academic All-Area Team. Montrose, who joins fellow Temple student-athlete senior Jean Alban (gymnastics)  is one of 10 student-athletes recognized for their work in competition and in the classroom this season. Penn's Wendy Zhou (fencing) was named the Academic All-Area Performer of the Year. The list of the entire team can be viewed by clicking the link above.

Montrose, an Advertising major with a grade point average of 3.70, won the NIWFA Individual Championship in epee for the third consecutive year. Her 37-37 record helped Temple place #10 in the nation. Montrose, who open the season with a 13th place finish at Temple Open, closed out the year with a 15th place performance at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals.
