Male Gymnast Evan Eigner Named ECAC Specialist of the Week

PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's gymnast Evan Eigner was named ECAC Specialist of the Week after his performance last Saturday at the Navy Open.
The sophomore scored a career high (15.05) to earn a 3rd place on rings at the Navy Open in Annapolis, Md. His score is the 2nd highest in Temple history since the open scoring system has been adopted.
Eigner received his early training at the Philadelphia Boys Gymnastics club. In high school he was a four-time Junior Olympic National qualifier.
As a high school senior he earned 2nd place on rings at the PA State Championships and was a semi-finalist on the same event at the Junior Olympic National Championships.
Temple men's gymnastics returns to action this Sunday with a home meet against Springfield, scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. in McGonigle Hall.
