Temple University Announces Return of Men's Crew and Women's Rowing To Varsity Status

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University announced the return of men's crew and women's rowing to varsity status effective immediately. The sports, part of seven that were scheduled to be removed from varsity status on June 30, 2014, were reinstated following a vote by the University's Board of Trustees.
The decision was reached after the city of Philadelphia, along with Trustee H.F. "Gerry" Lenfest, came together to finance the renovation of the the Owls' former home, East Park Canoe House, with no cost to the university.Â
