Gymnast Jakob Welsh Named ECAC Rookie of the Week

PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's gymnastics student-athlete Jakob Welsh was named ECAC Rookie of the Week for his performance last weekend in a home meet against Springfield.
Welsh was one of two all-around performers for Temple's meet, his first time doing all six events this season. He finished with a score of 79.350. He finished with a 13.4 on floor, 13.6 on pommel, 13.4 for rings, 13.55 on vault, 12.1 on parallel bars and had a high bar score of 13.3.
His pommel horse score tied him with Brendan Williams for the highest score on that event.
Men's gymnastics returns to action at Penn State on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
