2014 Men's Soccer Schedule
PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's soccer has announced its 2014 schedule as they look to build off a successful season last year with a 10-4-4 record. The Owls enter their second season in the American Athletic Conference after surpassing expectations and finishing fourth in the conference.
The Owls will play eight nonconference games to prepare for the American Athletic Conference. Drexel will visit Ambler on Aug 29 to begin the season for Temple followed by Sacramento State on Aug 31. Temple will then begin a four game trip on the road at Penn State on Sept 5 followed by games at Duke (Sept 9), La Salle (Sept 13), and Fordham (Sept 17). The Owls then play two home games against Penn and Delaware on Sept 21 and 24 before beginning conference play.
Temple will face all conference road opponents from 2013 at home this season. The Owls will host UCF (Oct 8) and SMU (Oct. 11) for the first time ever. New American Athletic Conference member Tulsa will come to Ambler on Oct 25. The Owls will play Cincinnati twice this season, with the Owls hosting the Bearcats on Sept 27 and playing at Cincinnati on Oct 18.
The Owls will play USF (Oct 4), UConn (Oct 22) and Memphis (Nov 1) on the road. Yale will be the last nonconference opponent of the season on Oct 14.
Seven opponents played in the NCAA tournament last year: Drexel, Penn State, Penn, Delaware, USF, UConn and Tulsa. Also, the Owls are playing Tulsa, Sacramento State and Yale for the first time in program history.
La Salle and Penn will serve as Temple's Philadelphia Soccer Six opponents. The Owls were named the Philadelphia Soccer Six Team of the Year last season.
