Teesdale Keeps Temple Golf Streak Alive with Win at the Open Championship

MALVERN, PA - Temple senior golfer Matt Teesdale extended the Owls streak to four straight years by winning the 110th Open Championship by one stroke Wednesday at the 6,787-yard par-71 Applebrook Golf Club.

Teesdale, who shot three-under 68s in the morning and afternoon rounds, won the prestigious Philadelphia area event for the first time. Teesdale's victory was the fourth consecutive by an Owl. He joins Temple 2011 Temple alum Andrew Mason (2011-12) and teammate Brandon Matthews (2013) in the current lineage of Temple winners.
