Temple Football to Take Part in American Athletic Conference Media Day

NEWPORT (7/28/14) – Temple University football team representatives have arrived at the Hyatt Regency in Newport, RI, to take part in American Athletic Conference Media Day. While tonight's festivities include the conference's annual clambake, the purposes of this trip begin in earnest tomorrow morning.
Since last season, the American Athletic Conference has added East Carolina, Tulsa and Tulane while Louisville and Rutgers are gone.
All 11 of The American's universities are here to listen to Commissioner Mike Aresco annual message, interact with media, television partners, bowl representatives, and conference members. In all, 11 head football coaches and 34 players travelled to Newport. Representing Temple is head coach Matt Rhule, OL Kyle Friend, RB Kenneth Harper, LB Tyler Matakevich and QB P.J. Walker.
No less than 50 newspapers, TV stations, and various other publications have descended upon Newport to cover Media Day which will include presentations from the Commissioner, all 11 head coaches, players and other officials.
