Women's Cross Country Finishes Seventh in First Race of the Season at Covered Bridge Open

BOONE, N.C. - The Temple women's cross country team saw their first action of the season Friday evening at the Covered Bridge Open hosted by Appalachian State University. Senior Jenna Dubrow finished 25th overall in a time of 20:08.85 to lead the Owls to a seventh place finish.
"I was proud with the women's overall performance," said coach James Snyder. "They have been putting in a lot of hard work coming into this race and I was pleased with what I saw."
The next top runner was freshman Catherine Pinson placing 34th in a time of 20:25.60. Sophomore Danielle Britton finished 60th in 21:45.19 and senior Andrea Mathis placed 66th in 22:08.88.
The Owls will spend the rest of the weekend training at ZAP fitness and participating in team bonding activities.
"Our team is really enjoying this time away and getting to know each other better. We are going to take advantage of the cool weather here in North Carolina and train on the beautiful trails the rest of the weekend together."
