Men's Soccer Loses at Fordham in Overtime 1-0

9.17.14 | Men's Soccer

BRONX, N.Y. – Temple men's soccer dropped a 1-0 decision in overtime at Fordham on Wednesday evening at Jack Coffey Field.  The Owls drop to 1-4-1 while the Rams improve to 3-2-1.

Temple had pressure on Fordham's goalie Sean Brailey all first half.  The Owls outshot the Rams 10-3, lead the corner kicks category 4-0 and forced Brailey to make five saves in the half.

Neither team could take advantage in the second half as well.  The Owls placed one shot on goal, and goalkeeper Dan Scheck made two saves.

Fordham was able to get a penalty kick late in overtime.  Andres Penfold took the penalty kick and scored his fifth goal of the season with 14 seconds left in the overtime period to win the game.

Scheck made four saves in the game.

The Owls return home on Sunday to face Penn in a Philadelphia Soccer Six match at 3:00 p.m.  Temple can clinch a share of the Philadelphia Soccer Six Championship with a win.
