NEW BRITAIN, CONN. -
Senior Jenna Dubrow was the top finisher for Temple's women's cross country team at the Ted Owen Invitational Saturday morning, which was hosted by Central Connecticut State. Dubrow earned a seventh-place finish out of 148 competitors in a time of 18:00.90 to lead the Owls to a seventh-place overall finish.

"The course at Stanley Quarter Park is difficult and brought the team new challenges, " said coach James Snyder. "I believe we responded extremely well to it."

The next finisher for the Owls was freshman Catherine Pinson in 33rd place with a time of 19:30.68, followed by senior Andrea Mathis in 51st place crossing the finish line in a time of 20:17.21. "The women did a great job today packing up towards the back and finishing within a couple seconds of eachother," said Snyder.

"When the weather cools off, racing heats up for cross country," said Snyder. "Each opportunity becomes increasingly more important for us but I think we are in a good spot. We now just have to continue with the training and believe in the process."

Temple will now look toward preparing for its next meet which will be at the Penn State National Invitational on Oct. 11 in State College, Pa.
