BOSTON, Mass. -- Racing in a deep field, the Temple women's rowing team placed both of its entries in the top-15 at the 2015 Head of the Charles Regatta.
"It was a great day for us," said assistant coach Alyssa O'Donnell
. "Our first boat did a great job finishing in the top-10 of a very competitive field, while our second boat was the fastest "B" entry in the entire event."Temple had a pair of boats race in the club four event, which featured a field of 63 competitors. The Owls' "A" boat finished ninth overall in a time of 19:36.67, while the "B" boat was 14th, clocking in at 20:05.25. The top-15 finishes secures a pair of entries into the 2016 field for the Owls.
The Head of the Charles is the largest two-day regatta in the world, attracting over 11,000 competitors from around the world, competing in 60 different races. The 2015 event is the 51st anniversary of regatta and more than 400,000 spectators were on hand to watch the races.
