Matt Teesdale Named Assistant Golf Coach

PHILADELPHIA - Matt Teesdale, a standout performer for the Temple Golf team the last three seasons, has joined the Owls staff as an assistant coach, announced head coach Brian Quinn.

"We are excited to have Matt come onboard as an assistant with the program," said Quinn.  "He had a great career here, and his experience will be a tremendous help to the young men on the squad."

"I want to thank Coach Quinn and Temple University for giving me this great opportunity," said Teesdale. "I am more than excited to show the underclassmen the ropes and allow their learning curve to be much shorter than mine was as an undergraduate here."

The Horsham, Pa. native was the team's third best golfer in each of the last two seasons with a 75.6 stroke average as a senior and a 75.1 average as a junior.  He placed second on the squad as a sophomore with a career-best 74.4 stroke average.

Teesdale, who won the Philadelphia area's prestigious Open Championship in 2014, registered four Top 10 finishes, and tied teammate Brandon Matthews for the 2013 Princeton Invitational title with a four-under par 209.  He also advanced to match play at the 2014 U.S. Amateur Championship.
