Men's Crew Grabs Two Golds at HOSR

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple men's crew team took home a pair of medals at the 2015 Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on Saturday. The Owls finished the day with four top-10 finishes.
Temple both medals were gold, as both the freshman four and the lightweight eight came away with victories. The freshman four clocked in at 14:57.54, topping the field of 14 boats. In the lightweight eight event, Temple's winning time was 14:15.15, 28 seconds faster than the second-place boat.
Other top-ten finishes for the Owls came from the freshman eight and the championship eight boats. In the freshman eight race, Temple ranked seventh out of 36 entries, finishing in a time of 13:48.78. The championship eight race saw Temple grab ninth and 13th in the deep 28-crew field. The Owl "A" boat clocked in at 13:16.29, while the "B" boat also had a solid race, finishing in 13:34.69.
Rounding out Saturday's highlights, the club eight entry finished 21st (14:36.19) in a competitive field, while the Owls owned 28th (15:39.27) and 31st (15:50.15) place finished out of 47 boats in the championship four race.
Also representing the cherry and the white, Temple fielded an alumni boat that finished sixth overall in a field of 25 boats.
The Owls next compete at the Princeton Three-Mile Chase on November 1.
