With the fall season behind them, the Temple men's tennis team took a break from the courts to serve their community.
Over the weekend, the team and head coach Steve Mauro
volunteered at the Sunday Morning Breakfast Mission, serving meals to those in need.
"This is a program that both of our teams have been involved with the past four or five years. We feel very honored and privileged to help out to our home area of North Philadelphia," said Mauro. "We're grateful for the position we're in and giving back is something we try to do on a regular."
The third-oldest rescue in the country, Sunday Morning Breakfast Mission has been committed to helping the homeless in the city of Philadelphia since 1878. They offer a meal service program, with three meals a day, and men's shelter in Center City, while providing a transitional home for women in Germantown.
The team will open the spring season on January 21 when they face city rival Villanova.
