3.2.15 | Football
PHILADELPHIA – Temple University has announced the following additions to its football coaching staff: Frisman Jackson has been hired as wide receivers coach; Glenn Thomas has been hired as quarterbacks coach; Adam DiMichele, the wide receiver coach in 2014, has been reassigned to director of player development.
"I'm very excited to add such talent and diversity to our coaching staff," said Temple head coach Matt Rhule. "Frisman and Glenn have worked at the highest level and can lead our student-athletes to greater heights. I'm also excited about what each man brings to the table as a recruiter."
Jackson, 35, joins Temple after two seasons as wide receivers coach at North Carolina State. In 2014, the Wolfpack receiving corps had five players with 20-or-more receptions and 15 of the team's 24 touchdowns by seven different receivers. Prior to his time at North Carolina State, Jackson was wide receivers coach at Northern Illinois (2012), Akron (2010-11), and Western Illinois (2008-09). He joined the college coaching ranks after a six-year career as a wide receiver in the National Football League. He began as an undrafted free agent for the Cleveland Browns (2002-06) before joining the New York Jets (2007). Jackson began his college playing career at Northern Illinois as a quarterback before transferring to Western Illinois in 2000 to play receiver.
Thomas joins the Owls after seven seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. Thomas joined Mike Smith's staff in 2008 as an offensive assistant and was promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2012. In three seasons at that position, Thomas guided Matt Ryan to his best stretch as a professional resulting in two Pro Bowl berths. In all three seasons, Ryan surpassed the 4,500 passing yard mark and threw for at least 26 touchdowns. Prior to his time with the Falcons, Thomas coached at Midwestern State from 2001-07 and began his coaching career at his alma mater, Texas Tech from 1998-2001.
