American Announces Women's Basketball Tournament Seeds

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's basketball team is set to compete in the upcoming American Athletic Conference Championships as the number four seed. The Owls receive a first-round bye and will take on fifth-seeded East Carolina in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 12 p.m. 

The tournament is being hosted by The American at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., from March 6 through March 9. UConn earned the American regular-season title and clinched the No. 1 seed, while USF and Tulsa follow as the second and third-seeded teams. All 11 teams will fight for the conference championship, with the top five seeds receiving byes into the quarterfinal round.

The entire American Athletic Conference tournament will be broadcast by ESPN. Temple's quarterfinal match-up will be on ESPN 3, with Bob Picozzi (play-by-play) and Brooke Weisbrod (analyst) on the call. The semifinal round will be aired live on ESPNU, and the finals will be on ESPN.

Tickets can also be purchased at the Mohegan Sun Arena Box Office. Box office hours are 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. daily. All ticket purchases are subject to additional convenience fees.
Fans can watch the entire tournament on the ESPN family of networks. The first round and quarterfinal games on March 6 and 7, respectively, will be carried live on ESPN3. The semifinals on March 8 will be televised on ESPNU while championship game on March 9 will air on ESPN.
