- Eight personal bests were earned by Temple track and field on Saturday, April 18 at the Morgan State Legacy meet. Three of those personal bests were earned by the Owls in the 400m dash event.
Sophomore Kenya Gaston
(55.56), junior Demeshia Davis
(56.68), and senior Michelle Davis Timothy
(58.00) placed fifth, ninth, and 15th, respectively with their personal-best finishes in the 400m dash. Freshman Attallah Goodman
finished eighth in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:05.14. In the 100m dash, sophomore Jimmia McCluskey
earned a personal-best mark of 12.15 in the 100m dash, placing 10th.
In the 200m dash, sophomore Bionca St. Fleur
placed fourth with a time of 24.64 seconds. A third place finish was earned by Temple's 4x400m relay team of Hollis Coleman
, Davis, Gaston, and Kiersten LaRoche
with a time of 3:47.35. An eighth place finish was earned by Temple's second 4x400m relay team made up of Goodman, Kaitlyn McSurdy
, Bionca St. Fleur
, Imani Shell
, finishing in 3:56.26.
Sophomore Megan Schneider
finished the 5,000m run in a personal-best 19:14.00, placing ninth. Another personal best was earned by senior Andrea Mathis
in the 800m run with a time of 2:20.18.
In field events, St. Fleur placed third (5.65m) and McCluskey finshed fourth (5.61m) in the long jump. In the triple jump, sophomore Sydnee Jacques
placed eighth (11.59m) and junior Jamila Janneh
finished ninth (11.50m). A personal best was earned by freshman Kennedi Van Eyken
in the triple jump with a mark of 10.82m.
The Owls will compete next in the 121st Penn Relays on April 23-25 at the University of Pennsylvania.
