Will Cummings Agrees To Terms with Houston Rockets

6.26.15 | Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA - Temple guard Will Cummings has agreed to terms on a free agent contract with the Houston Rockets of the NBA.

Cummings, who led the Owls in scoring (14.8 ppg), assists (4.2 apg) and steals (1.9 spg), ended his career with 1,245 points (35th all-time at TU), 357 assists and 159 steals.  He also finished tied second with Hal Lear (1955-56) on Temple's single season list for free throws made with 189, 15 behind former teammate Khalif Wyatt's record 204 set during the 2012-13 season.

The 6-2 guard was a first team All-American Athletic Conference and all-Philadelphia Big 5 selection, and was instrumental in leading Temple to the nation's best turnaround. The Owls (26-11) finished their season with 17 more wins than the previous season (9-22). UC Davis had the second best turnaround at +16 wins.

The Jacksonville, Fla. native also was honored as Temple's co-Male Student-Athlete of the Year, sharing the honor with honorable mention All-American Brandon Matthews.
