Record-Setting Year for Temple Owl Club Support

7.30.15 | Owl Club

PHILADELPHIA - For the second consecutive year, the Temple Owl Club has made fundraising history - thanks to the increased support of loyal Owls fans.  Reaching a record high of 2,060 donors, Temple Owl Club members increased their unrestricted contributions by 26.1 percent from the previous year. These contributions enhance  Temple's scholarships, academic aid and training resources.  The Owl Club's sport specific funding also set a new record with a 29.1 percent increase.

The generous support of 2014-15 Temple Owl Club members allowed for improvements such as more academic tutors to travel with teams and assisting in enhancing training resources.

"We could not provide the high-level support for all of our athletics programs without the continued generosity of our Owl Club members," extolled Temple University Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft. "I would like to personally thank each of our Owl Club members, Owl Club president Amy Larovere and her Executive Board, as well as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development Tilghman Moyer and his fine staff."

Another shattered record during the 2014-15 membership year is the number of referrals through the GET ONE New Member Referral Program.  The winner of this year's "Most Owluable Player" award is given to Jack Fatica, commonly also known as the "I Believe Guy", who referred the most new members and also raised the most dollars.

"I am proud of this year's accomplishments and look forward to building on this momentum," said Larovere. "Temple University has risen academically, in the community, and athletically.  Our students are benefiting from unprecedented alumni and fan financial support.  And, we will continue to provide this level of support in the future."

The Temple Owl Club – the official support group of Temple Athletics - provides the resources needed to enrich the lives of our students as they strive to achieve excellence in the classroom and at the highest level of competition.
