The American Athletic Conference released its 2015-16 men's basketball schedule today and Temple will open conference play at Cincinnati on December 29 on ESPN2.
"To open our conference season on the road against one of the top teams in The American is a challenge, but every game in this conference is one," said Temple head coach Fran Dunphy
. "We are thankful to play in one of the top basketball conferences in the nation, and look forward to competing at the highest level each and every game."
This season each American Athletic Conference team will play eight member schools twice and two opponents once. The Owls will only play SMU at home (Jan. 23 – ESPNU) and Tulane on the road (Mar. 6 – ESPN3) during the 2015-16 campaign.
Once again Temple fans will be able to watch all of the Owls' conference games on national television. Of the 30 total games on the schedule, all but two games - Penn and La Salle - are scheduled to be televised at the time of this release. The Owls have 21 games set to be televised by ESPN entities and six will be seen on CBS Sports Network.
Temple's game at 2015 NCAA Runner-Up Wisconsin on Saturday, December 5 (12:30 p.m. EDT) will be televised live by CBS.
As many as 14 of Temple's 30 games could come against opponents that competed in the postseason in 2014-15 with eight of those contests coming against teams in the 2015 NCAA Tournament field.
