Matakevich, Thomas Claim ECAC Player of the Week Honors

PHILADELPHIA – Junior running back Jahad Thomas and senior linebacker Tyler Matakevich were named to the Corvais ECAC FBS Players of the Week list for Week 2. Thomas' career-high 193 yards on the ground earned him Offensive Player of the Week, while Matakevich collected a team-high 13 tackles and two interceptions, the last one ending a potential game-tying drive with 13 seconds left, and received ECAC Defensive Player of the Week. Thomas wins the award for the second consecutive week. Two Owls were on the list last week, as Thomas was joined by sophomore punter Alex Starzyk who picked up Special Teams Player of the Week. Matakevich continues to lead all active career tacklers in the FBS with 375 and is working towards becoming the first Owl with four 100+ tackle seasons. This week he passed Joe Klecko (373) for fifth all-time in program history.
