PHILADELPHIA --  Irie Dennis has joined the Nancy & Donald Resnick Academic Support Center for Student-Athletes at Temple as an Associate Academic Advisor. Dennis comes to Temple from the University of South Florida, where she most recently served as a counselor in student support services.

"The Resnick Academic Support Center for Student-Athletes prides itself on hiring and developing extremely talented and committed staff to work with Temple's student-athletes and Irie Dennis is no exception," noted Senior Director Justin Miller. "One would be hard pressed to find a more energetic and positive individual working in student-athlete support services than Irie Dennis and our student-athletes will quickly benefit from her expertise. We look forward to her having a long and successful tenure as an Owl."

Dennis is a 2010 graduate of Grand Valley State University, where she was a four-year member of the women's soccer team. The NCAA Division II National Player of the Year as a senior, she led her team to the NCAA Tournament in each of her four years, culminating in a national championship in 2009. Dennis was also honored for her work in the classroom, earning ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors in 2009, as well as being named to the GVSU Dean's List four times.

As an undergraduate, Dennis also completed internships with the Grand Valley athletic department, as well as with the Toldeo Mud Hens. She received her bachelor's degree in advertising and public relations, and is on track to receive her master's degree from USF in May of 2016.
