Overton Earns Spot on American Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Temple junior Kirsten Overton nabbed a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the period ending September 20. 

Overton led all Philadelphia Big 5 players in hitting percentage and total blocks, helping the Owls to a runner-up finish at the annual tournament. The junior racked up 28 kills with just three errors, hitting .580 in three matches. At the net, Overtontallied 18 total blocks, averaging 1.80 per set, en route to an All-Tournament selection. Against La Salle, she hit .750 with nine kills on 12 swings without an error, also picking up seven blocks. In a win over Penn, she had seven kills on 10 attempts and added six blocks. Closing out the weekend, Overton tallied 12 kills with two errors and had five blocks against Villanova.

Temple heads to Florida for a pair of American Athletic Conference matches this weekend. The Owls will play on Friday at USF and then Sunday at UCF.
