#17 Men's Soccer Travels to Cincinnati for American Athletic Conference Opener

PHILADELPHIA – Hitting the road for its first American Athletic Conference match, #17 men's soccer faces off against Cincinnati Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Bearcats' Gettler Stadium.

The Owls currently hold an undefeated 7-0-1 record and look to continue their six-game win streak this weekend. Temple is off to its best program start and highest national ranking since 1985 when the Owls made an appearance in the NCAA tournament. The team also leads the conference rankings and remains the only undefeated team in the American Athletic Conference.

Coming off three consecutive Philadelphia Soccer Six match victories, the Owls have explored their depth and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities. Through eight matches, the team has posted a combined 112 shots and 18 goals from eight players. In the Owls' last match against La Salle, four goals were scored by four different players to ultimately give them a 4-1 win over the Explorers.

The Bearcats welcome the Owls after suffering a 3-1 loss against Cleveland State on Wednesday, Sept. 23. Cincinnati now stands at 4-4 for the season and ranks sixth in the conference. This will be the fourth matchup between Temple and Cincinnati with the Owls leading the series 2-1. The Owls last saw the Bearcats in Oct., 2014 where they dropped the match 5-1 on the road.
