As the Temple men's tennis team finished up day two at the Joe Hunt Invitational hosted by Navy, three Owls will advance to the championship of their respective flights on Sunday.
In E singles, senior Maros Januvka
battled with Navy's Josh Martin, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 to earn a spot in Sunday's championship match. His opponent will be senior Ian Glessing
, who defeated Navy's Parker Hayslett, 6-1, 6-2.
Freshman Artem Kapshuk
will also represent Temple in the championship from the B singles flights. Kapshuk defeated UMBC's Alex Drean, 6-1, 6-4 and will face Georgia Tech's Michael Chen in the finals.
Junior Filip Stipcic
will participate in the D singles third place match after he lost his Saturday matchup against George Mason's Guliano Buzoianu, 1-6, 7-6 (6), 6-4."I was really happy the guys performed today. I'm especially impressed with Artem [Kapshuk], Ian [Glessing] and Maros [Januvka], who all reached the finals of their flights," said head coach Steve Mauro. "Artem is undefeated so far this fall and we're looking for some great things from him this season. It's also great to see the two seniors perform well and I'm looking forward to seeing their match tomorrow."

and freshman Uldazimir Dorash will all compete in consolation matches in their respective flights.
In doubles, Canete and Naran will place for fifth place in the A doubles flight against Navy's Thomas Pecor and Austin Jones, while Kapshuk and Dorash will play in an 11th
match against Mary Washington's Stratton Gilmore and Nolan Perugini; Canete and Naran defeated Gilmore and Perugini on Friday, 6-3.
In B doubles, 7th
place will belong to Temple as Ong and Stipcic will face off against Paulus and Belkssir.
