The Owls defense led the way to a 27-10 win over Penn State

Football Earns USSA's "Game of the Week" Honors

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple Owls football team collected its second team award for the week. The United States Sports Academy honored the team by naming its 27-10 victory over Penn State last Saturday as its "Game of the Week" for the opening weekend of the 2015 season. The defense's overpowering of the in-state rival to the tune of 10 sacks earned the team this accolade. The victory is now under consideration for the Academy's Game of the Year, which includes an original painting of the game and a contribution to the school's general scholarship fund.

The Owls look to continue their momentum when they travel to Cincinnati for an American Athletic Conference showdown with the Bearcats. Kickoff at Nippert Stadium for the nationally televised game on ESPNews is set for 8:00 p.m. Saturday night.
