Women’s Soccer Loses 1-0 in Double Overtime Thriller

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's soccer falls to conference opponents USF Thursday evening in a double overtime thriller, 1-0.
The game-winning goal came during the 103rd minute of play when Grace Adams found a wide open space roughly 22 yards out. Adams drilled the ball and it just flew into the net inside the left pole.
On the day, sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Nash saved six shots on 21 shots faced and the lone goal allowed. Coming into the math, Nash led the conference in saves with 80, which was 28 saves higher than the next goalkeeper. The number also ranked her 22nd in the nation.
The Owls fall to 3-12 (0-5 AAC) on the year and the Bulls advance to 10-1-1 (2-1-1 AAC). Coming into today's matchup, the Bulls were receiving votes in the NSCAA Poll and were tanked number 24 in the Top Drawer Soccer Poll.
Head coach Seamus O'Conner was very pleased with the way his team played against the Bulls and can tell his team is consistently getting better.
"I am extremely proud of the girls," O'Connor said. "They are growing every single day. It was a pleasure to watch this match. USF is a very good team and we went toe-to-toe with them. We executed the plan that we made for them and it worked. We didn't just hang on, we battled and fought. Both teams had the momentum throughout the game."
Temple is in action again on Sunday as they host the UCF Knights at the Temple Sports Complex. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and will stream on OwlsTV.
