Men's Crew Races Strong at Navy Day Regatta

PHILADELPHIA -- In their first big event of the fall, the Temple men's crew team notched three top-10 finishes, competing at the Navy Day Regatta. The event was held on the shores of the Schuylkill River.

Temple's JV eight boat recorded the highest finish of the day for the Owls, as the crew took fifth place in their event. The Owls clocked in at 13:41.67 in the field of 14 boats.

In varsity eight races, the Owls finished eighth and 18th out of 31 crews. The varsity eight boat was first across the line for TU, finishing in 13:28.52, while the second varsity eight raced a 14:02.48.

The freshman eight event saw the Owls finish back-to-back, taking 10th and 11th out of 18 boats. Temple's "A" boat recorded a time of 13:46.81 finishing just ahead of the "B" boat's time of 14:11.48.

Wrapping up the event, Temple's lightweight eight took 11th place overall, finishing in 14.41.1.
