10.3.16 | Football

PHILADELPHIA - Senior defensive lineman Haason Reddick has been named American Athletic Conference defensive player of the week for his week five performance vs. SMU. The senior pass rusher did it all accounting for four tackles, two sacks, and two forced fumbles, including one that was returned for a touchdown. He also recovered a fumble against the Mustangs as well. He currently leads the conference with 7.0 TFLs on the season through five weeks.

Sophomore running back Ryquell Armstead was also named to the conference's weekly honor roll, rushing for a career high 159 yards and two touchdowns. He was a key contributor to an offense that scored 45 points in the victory.

Reddick, Armstead, and the rest of the Temple Owls will travel down to Tennessee this week for a Thursday night prime time matchup against Memphis. The game will kick off at 8:00 p.m. and will be broadcasted on ESPN.
