Men’s Cross Country Competes at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships
11.11.16 | Men's Cross Country
State College, Pa. – On Friday, Temple men's cross country raced against 21 other teams in the region at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships, hosted at Penn State. Though ranked 14 in the region by USTFCCCA as of Oct. 31, the Owls fell short against the competition placing 19th overall.
Georgetown took first in team standings with two runners in the top-10 and two in the top-20. Behind Georgetown was Navy and Princeton in second and third places respectively.
Temple's top finisher was sophomore Johnathan Condly, who finished the 10K race in 32.26. Next in for the Owls was freshman Kevin Lapsansky (32.44).
"John and Kevin ran a good race today for where they are in there training," said Snyder. "Last year, John looked like a deer in the headlights at his first regional 10K meet, but this year he was able to adjust and push through. 10K races take a certain level of confidence and training, so we are slowly but surely working up to that level. By the time we come back to the regional meet next year, if our current freshmen are able to the same turnaround John did, we will be in great shape."
The Owls will next compete at the IC4A Championships on Nov. 19 at Can Courtland Park in Bronx, N.Y.
Temple Results:
84 Johnathan Condly, 32:26
93 Kevin Lapsansky, 32:44

113 Donovan Mears, 33:26
