Nate Hairston to Play in East-West Shrine Game
12.21.16 | Football
The East-West Shrine game has announced 96 players who will participate in its 2017 all-star game, including Temple's redshirt senior DB Nate Hairston.
Hairston, a Frederick, Md. native, has started at cornerback in all 13 games this season for the Owls, and was one of ten players on the team to start every game in 2016. He finished the season with 25 tackles, two interceptions and three pass breakups, and was a major reason why Temple's defense was ranked #3 in the nation. Hairston was a first-year starter who converted to corner back from wide receiver a year ago.
Since 1925, the game has been in existence to support Shriner's Hospitals for Children and to help children in need of expert medical care. More than one million children have benefited from Shriner's Hospitals' unique way of providing hope and healing, regardless of the families' ability to pay for services.
The game is scheduled to take place on January 21, 2017, at 3 p.m. ET and will be held at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL.
