Men's Soccer Announces 2016 Spring Schedule

PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's soccer head coach David MacWilliams has announced the 2016 spring match schedule. Between March 26 and April 23, the Owls will play seven games in total.
Beginning with the Temple Play Date on March 26, the Owls will return to the Ambler Sports Complex to play a double-header against NJIT and Harcum Junior College at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively.
On April 1, the team will face city-rival La Salle on the road. During the 2015 season, the Owls topped the Explorers 4-1 at the Ambler Sports Complex.
Following the matchup against La Salle, the Owls will partake in the Soccer Six Play Date at Penn on April 9. The team first faces Drexel at 6:30 p.m., followed by the hosting Quakers at 7:30 p.m.
The annual spring Alumni Game will be held on Saturday, April 16 at the Ambler Sports Complex. The Owls will close out the short spring season with a road match-up against the Maryland Terrapins on April 23 at 1:00 p.m.
Temple men's soccer enters the spring season following a 10-7-2 season in the fall where the team earned its first top-25 ranking since 1997 that included a win over #25 Penn State and a six-game win streak to open the season. In conference play, the Owls finished 2015 with a record of 2-6-0, falling to UConn in the American Athletic Conference Quarterfinals.
The Owls are graduating four seniors, including starter Jared Martinelli who ended his career as an Owl ranked second in the Temple record books with 21 career assists.
