Men's Tennis Drops Conference Match to SMU, 7-0

DALLAS, TX - The Temple men's tennis team saw a nine-match winning streak come to an end on Wednesday night as they fell to conference foe SMU, 7-0. The Owls move to 11-2, 2-1 The American with their first loss since January 16.
SMU quickly took a 1-0 lead over Temple, sweeping all three doubles matches. At the third flight, Markus Kerner and Ronald Slobodchikov handed freshmen duo Uladzimir Dorash and Florian Mayer their first loss of the season in doubles competition.
In singles, the Mustangs held strong and took the win with five straight-set victories over the Owls. Dorash was the only member of the Temple lineup to be able to take his flight to three sets, but ultimately fell to Kerner, 7-6 (7-1), 3-6, 1-0 (10-1) at the fourth flight.
The Owls will be back in action Friday afternoon as they remain in Texas to face Abilene Christian.
