– The Temple women's track and field team is set for another two-day meet this weekend in Williamsburg, Va. The 2016 Colonial Relays will begin on Friday, April 1 and continue to Saturday, April 2. Across both days, the Owls will be competing in 19 different events including seven different relays.
Last weekend, the Owls notched five top-ten finishes and three personal-bests at the Raleigh Relays. Kenya Gaston
posted the highest finish for an individual running event, placing ninth in the 400-meter run with a time of 55.81.
The 4x1500-meter relay earned the highest placement overall with a seventh place finish in the event after running a time of 19:22.73.
This weekend will see the return of freshman Sylvia Wilson
, who did not compete last weekend due to injury. Wilson, who set two school records during the indoor season, will be running in the 100-meter dash and 100-meter hurdles event.Katie Pinson
, who has shown significant growth in her longer distance runs, will be participating in the 5000-meter run for the first time on Friday.
