Temple Owl Club Turns in Another Record-Setting Year
8.18.16 | General, Owl Club
PHILADELPHIA – Like the University as a whole, the Temple Owl Club kept its upward momentum going with a third consecutive record-setting year. The athletic department's fundraising arm has seen its unrestricted giving grow by 296% over the last five years while Owl Club membership has more than doubled during the same time period.
In addition to significant growth in annual contributions, the Owl Club secured three seven-figure commitments during the 2015-16 fiscal year with an additional seven, six-figure commitments that have provided support for the new Temple Sports Complex, the men's crew and women's rowing programs as well as other projects.
Total commitments to Temple Athletics grew by more than 234% from FY15 to FY16.
"It is tremendous to see that the commitment of our alumni and supporters is rising at the same level as the overall success of our athletic department and its programs," said Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft. "The philanthropy our Owl Club has fostered has been an enormous help in providing our student-athletes with the support needed to compete at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics.
"I would like to personally thank each of our Owl Club members, 2015-16 Owl Club president Amy Larovere and her Executive Board, as well as Associate Athletics Director for Development Kris Graves and his fine staff."
The Owl Club also helped to secure leadership gifts to name the new Howarth Field Hockey and Lacrosse Field, the new Dan and Shelley Boyce Track, the Lenfest Boat Challenge to provide a new fleet of boats for the men's crew and women's rowing teams, as well as leadership donations to fund student-athlete welfare around nutrition and mental health initiatives.
The Temple Owl Club – the official support group of Temple Athletics - provides the resources needed to enrich the lives of our students as they strive to achieve excellence in the classroom and at the highest level of competition.
