Women’s Soccer Travels to Mount St. Mary’s on Friday; Plays Home Sunday Against NJIT

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's soccer takes on a two-game weekend beginning at Mount St. Mary's on Friday (9/16 7:00 p.m.) and home against NJIT on Sunday (9/18 12:00 p.m.).

The Owls enter the week 2-5 on the season with wins over Rider and Delaware State. During last weekend's road trip, Temple fell to Princeton and Binghamton, Princeton being a 2015 NCAA College Cup Team.

The Owls are led offensively by junior Gabriella McKeown. McKeown leads the team in almost every offensive category with three goals, two assists and eight points on the season. The North Cape May, N.J. native scored the game winning goal against Rider in overtime for the team's second victory of the season.

Temple has seen two goalkeepers in net this season. Sophomore Jordan Nash started the year for the Owls and has played 509 minutes in net. Nash has compiled 30 saves on the campaign with a goal against average of 1.24 and two shut outs.

Freshman Cassy Skelton has played the last 123 minutes for the Owls and started against Binghamton. Skelton has three saves and three goals against.

For the Mount, sophomore forward Jenna West leads the team with two goals on the season and four points. West was named to the All-NEC Rookie Team last season with three goals and eight points.

Mount St. Mary's has started senior goalkeeper Maddy Bunnell in all six games this year. Bunnell has 29 saves and 14 goals against.

The Highlanders have been shut down offensively on their three game losing streak as the team has been scoreless. They are led offensively by sophomore Neema Liverpool. Liverpool has scored four goals on the season and eight points overall.

In net, NJIT has seen senior goalkeeper Karen David start all nine of the team's games. David has made 36 saves on the year, while allowing nine goals against and picking up one shutout.

ALL-TIME SERIES…

Temple is undefeated in the all-time series against Mount St. Mary's 4-0. The teams first met in 1996 with the most recent matchup being a 3-0 victory in 2014.

Against NJIT, the Owls are also undefeated in their two-game history. The teams played in 2012 and 2013. Temple won both games in a shutout.
