Track & Field Completes Day One of Penn State National

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – On Friday Jan. 27, Temple women's track and field competed at the Penn State National, hosted at the Ashenfelter III Indoor Track. Day one of the weekend's events only featured one Owl, Ebonee Jackson.

Jackson represented the squad in the 60 meter dash and the 60 meter hurdles, making it past preliminaries and semi-finals to the final round in the hurdles. The freshman earned top-10 finishes in both rounds of the 60 meter hurdles with her times of 8.80 and 8.81 respectively. 

On Saturday the Owls return to the track for eight events. Crystal Jones and Simone Chapman are to compete in the high jump and triple jump, respectively. Additionally, two Owls were selected to compete in three invitational track events. Freshman Millie Howard will represent Temple in the mile run while senior Kenya Gaston will take on the 400 meter dash and the 200 meter dash.

The first event for Temple will be the open 500 meter dash, ran by freshman Jazmyne Williams beginning at 11:05 a.m. Other open races include the mile and the 3K run featuring Katie Pinson, Katie Leisher, and Grace Moore.

The Penn State National will be live streamed via Flotrack.org and BTN2Go.
