Women's Rowing Opens Season with Medals at Navy Day Regatta

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple rowing team opened the 2017-18 season with a pair of bronze medals, capping an all around successful day of racing. The cherry and white took home two bronze medals, coming in the novice eight and novice four races.
COLLEGIATE 8
> The collegiate eight race featured a 26-boat field, with the Owls' finishing 6th, 8th, and 13th.
> Temple's "A" boat clocked in at 14:19.77, while the "B" boat finished in 14:38.48, and the "C" boat in 15:01.11.
JV 8
> Temple had a pair of boats in the JV eight race, narrowly missing a medal with a fourth place finish.
> Temple's time of 14:33.05 was just two seconds behind Navy for third.
> The Owls also recorded a 12th place finish in the 22 boat field, recording a time of 15:27.911.
COLLEGIATE 4
> Temple entered three boats into the 28-team field.
> The Owls' grabbed a fifth place finish with their "A" boat in a time of 16:07.74.
> Temple also nabbed eighth (16:18.81) and 16th place finishes (16:47.64).
NOVICE 8
> The Owls finished third overall to grab bronze medals.
> Temple clocked in at 15:22.66, just off the pace of Navy and Drexel in the 12-boat field.
NOVICE 4
> Temple's novice four earned the Owls their second medal of the day -- another bronze.
> The cherry and white boat finished third in a time of 17:50.99.
